This cookie is a soft spice cookie base, made with brown sugar, cinnamon, and ground cloves. Before being baked, blackberry jam is placed into a thumbprint located in the center of each cookie. Once cooled, the top of each cookie is ribboned with a simple vanilla glaze to help bring out the sweetness of the blackberries. One of my most favorite cookies on the menu!
McLoud, Oklahoma was founded back in 1895 and is located in Pottawatomie County. Did you know that McLoud was declared the “Blackberry Capital of the World”? This happened back in 1949 when the town’s Chamber of Commerce shipped a crate of blackberries to President Harry S. Truman, who then bestowed this honor upon the community.
